Solution

In your Bitpalace Business Booster you can choose any of three web hosting types. You can also change the type later at any time. These are the web hosting types to choose from:

• Website
  This hosting types gives you disk space for a website. You can install a blog, a shop or a normal website. The type "website" is the default setting of your Bitpalace Business Booster.
• Redirect
  All calls of your domain will be redirected to another domain, sub-directory or page. Your Bitpalace Business Booster will use a search engine friendly 301 redirect for that. Google PageRank ratings will be saved and will not be shared among several domains. You do not necessarily have to change the hosting type to setup a web redirect. FAQ article #34 (see link below) describes three other methods to configure a web redirect. These redirect types are available:
  - perpetual redirect (status code 301)
  - temporary redirect (status code 302)
  - frame redirect
• No web hosting
  Your domain is available for e-mail hosting, but it does not provide a website directory.

When you change the hosting type from e.g. "website" to "redirect", all data of your website will be lost irrevocably. To change the web hosting type follow these steps:

1. Log-in to your customer control panel of your host, e.g. "https://elbe.bitpalast.net:8443". The name of your host and your credentials for the customer control panel can be found in the server welcome mail that you have received at the beginning of your contract term.

2. Click on the "Websites & Domains" tab.

3. Click on the "Hosting settings" link below the large domain name headline of the domain that you want to edit.

4. Behind the "Hosting type" entry click on the "[Change]" Link and select your new hosting type. If you choose "website" as your new hosting type, you must also enter the name of a sub-directory where you want to store your website's files in. Für the hosting type "redirect" you can pick the type of the redirect and you can also configure where you want to redirect the users to.

5. Click on the "OK" button.

If you have leased a Bitpalace Business Booster but do not use the web space that it comes with as you have set the hosting type to "redirect" or "no hosting", the regular price of the service will still be billed, because your package consists of several additional services besides the web space, that will still be available. It is not possible to remove the web space from the package.
